1. It Is the Result of Satan’s Corruption of Man
Why are wars constantly breaking out in this world? This is all due to Satan’s corruption of man. God’s words say: “Born into such a filthy land, man has been severely blighted by society, he has been influenced by feudal ethics, and he has been taught at ‘institutes of higher learning.’ The backward thinking, corrupt morality, mean view on life, despicable philosophy for living, utterly worthless existence, and depraved lifestyle and customs—all of these things have severely intruded upon man’s heart, and severely undermined and attacked his conscience. As a result, man is ever more distant from God, and ever more opposed to Him.” “Cruel mankind! The connivance and intrigue, the snatching and grabbing one from another, the scramble for fame and fortune, the mutual slaughter—when will it ever end? … How many people do not act out of their own interests? How many do not oppress or ostracize others in order to protect their own position?”
God’s words expose the root cause and the truth of our corruption by Satan. For thousands of years, Satan has continuously used such harmful teachings and fallacies as atheism, evolutionism, and materialism to deceive and corrupt mankind. This has caused mankind to worship and put blind faith in various lies and fallacies of devil kings and great men, who have said things like: “There is no God or Savior at all”; “Man can conquer nature and fight against heaven and earth”; “One’s destiny is in his own hand”; “Everyone for himself and the devil take the hindmost”; “Man will do anything to get rich”; “Fight for every inch of land and seize every bit you can get”; “We will not attack unless we are attacked; if we are attacked, we will certainly counterattack”; “As a small mind makes no gentleman, a real man is not without venom”; and so forth. Deluded and corrupted by these evil teachings and fallacies, we become arrogant, deceitful, selfish, greedy, wicked, and self-interested, we put profits first no matter what we do, and if there is no associated benefit, then we don’t bother to do anything. There is no man who speaks of humanity and morality, no man who speaks of conscience and reason, and no man who can speak of being honest. In order to pursue fame and satisfy their own interests, men engage in intrigue, squabbling, and scheming, and even kill one another. And for different interests, nations fight against one another in unceasing conflict. This is all the result of Satan’s corruption of mankind.
2. It Is the Omen Presaging the Lord Jesus’ Return
The Lord Jesus once said: “And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed” (Luke 17:26–30). “And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24:6–8). The disasters that have occurred across the world in recent years have been growing more and more severe and, to man’s horror, earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, droughts, wildfires, famine and plagues occur frequently and are widespread; the world is in a turbulent state, and wars, violent acts and terrorist attacks happen frequently and continue to escalate. It is precisely the frequency of these disasters that serves as a reminder to mankind from God and also a sign of the Lord Jesus’ return. Now God’s words are being fulfilled and realized. Only by welcoming the Lord can we have an opportunity to survive the catastrophe with God’s protection.
The Bible says: “Who are kept by the power of God through faith to salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (1 Peter 1:5). “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin to salvation” (Hebrews 9:28). “And if any man hear My words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects Me, and receives not My words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:47–48). “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God” (1 Peter 4:17). And it’s prophesied in Revelation chapter 22, verse 14: “Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” We can see from these verses that when the Lord Jesus returns in the last days, He will use word to judge and purify man so that we may understand all truth, understand the path to our corrupt satanic dispositions being cleansed, cast off the shackles and strictures of our corrupt dispositions, and thus manage to gain God’s salvation and be qualified to enter into His kingdom. This is the salvation that God has prepared for us in the last days. Although our faith in the Lord allows us to be forgiven our sins, be entitled to pray to God, enjoy the grace and blessings of God, and be no longer of sin, our sinful natures and satanic disposition remain deeply rooted within us. For example, we are arrogant, selfish, contemptible, crooked and crafty, and often tell lies that rebel against and oppose God. God is holy and righteous; how could He permit those who oppose and rebel against Him to enter His kingdom? So, only by accepting God’s work of judgment in the last days and having our corrupt dispositions purified will we be protected and kept by God and enter into His kingdom. By then, there will be no fighting or war, and people will live in peace and have no more tears or sorrow. Just as Revelation says: “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Revelation 21:3–4).
