I, Growing Up in a Christian Family, Was Blessed by the Lord and Furthered My Studies in U.S.
I was born in a small city in southern China. Starting from the generation of my great-grandmother, the later generations of our family have all been Christians. The Bible stories, hymns, and church music accompanied me through my happy childhood. As I grew older and study pressures intensified, my heart drifted away from the Lord gradually, but He never left me. Whenever I called on His name, He would help me. The grace of the Lord Jesus and His holy name were deeply rooted in my heart. In the year when I took the college entrance examination, nobody, including my coach, believed that I could be admitted into a good college. I was in despair several times. But accidentally a church saying from my childhood occurred to me: “Man’s end is God’s beginning.” At that moment, I was suddenly enlightened. I put my mind to relying on the Lord, for my end was God’s beginning, and the Lord is the most powerful; I believed that He would help me. So, I prayed to the Lord Jesus, “O Lord, please help me. If You help me to get admitted to my dream college, from now on, I will not be far away from You, and I will accept You as my only Savior for my whole life.” At the same time, I exerted rigorous effort that could not be imagined by ordinary people. In my senior year of high school, I practiced my instrument all day except for meals and sleep, which amounted to around ten to twelve hours a day. I didn’t even know where the motivation that was supporting me came from. Finally, I realized my long-cherished wish to attend a top-level music conservatory in China. Therefore, my faith that the Lord Jesus is my only Savior in this lifetime was reinforced. And then it was my senior year in college, and I was confused about what I should do after graduation. Thus, I called on my Lord Jesus again, asking Him to guide me and open up a way out for me. In 2004, I received a full scholarship and a fellowship from an American university merely with a single professional recording of my own. Moreover, I obtained my student visa smoothly, despite stricter U.S. visa requirements following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, to go to the United States to continue my education. These two experiences, admission to a top college and traveling abroad to study, which seemed improbable in most people’s eyes, strengthened my belief that the Lord Jesus is the true God and is my Savior.
Blinded by the Rumors, I Missed God’s Work of the Last Days for the First Time
One day in 2007, I called my mother for an ordinary chat. All of a sudden, she said to me, “Do you know that the Lord Jesus Christ has come back?” I felt a frisson of surprise after hearing this news from her. But my mind immediately turned to the Bible, which said that false Christs would appear in the last days. So, I wasn’t sure whether it was true or not. Given that information was easily accessible online, I searched the Internet in an attempt to check it out. But the result was not what I had expected at all. There were overwhelming claims of blasphemy and condemnation of Almighty God, and I was bewildered by those negative statements. I was afraid that my mother had no discernment and took the wrong way, so I called her immediately to tell her what I had read from the Internet. But my mother was certain that Almighty God is the returned Lord Jesus. No matter how hard I tried to persuade her, she said, “My dear, you don’t know the truth because you haven’t read the words of Almighty God. Now I can’t clarify those rumors to you clearly. Don’t worry about me. I’m not on the wrong path, but have followed the Lamb’s footsteps. Please don’t talk about this anymore on the phone.” I knew China is an atheistic country and that its government persecutes Christians,and I was afraid to cause my mother to be in trouble if I continued talking about belief in God with her over the phone. So I called a familiar pastor in China for help, begging him to save my mother. He agreed, but finally failed to have my mother turn back. Hearing the news, I nearly went crazy. I even went as far as to force my mother to make a choice between Almighty God and me. Just after I said those words to my mother, however, I experienced an astonishing dream for three successive nights. In the dream, it was so dark that I couldn’t see my own fingers in front of me, and torrential rain was pouring down. I walked by myself along the familiar seaside with a black umbrella. Suddenly, a bright lightning struck my umbrella. This dream terrified me to the point that I woke up in a cold sweat. However, I was too foolish, ignorant and rigid to understand and seek it in the spirit. Why did I have such a dream for three days in a row? Was God warning me to stop resisting Him and turn back to Him? As I tried ways in vain to turn my mother around, I gradually focused my mind on my busy life in the U.S. and stopped denouncing her.
Three Years Later When I Returned to China, My Mother Preached to Me God’s Work of the Last Days Again
In 2010, when I returned home, my mother finally caught an opportunity to have a good talk with me. She seemed to know what I had been thinking. She asked me directly, “Do I look normal to you after several years of believing in Almighty God?” Her words rendered me speechless. I was surprised to discover that none of those creepy statements on the Internet ever happened to my mother. She stood before me, normal, healthy, and unharmed. I even felt that she was more transformed after believing in Almighty God than she was when she believed in the Lord Jesus. At that point, I thought: It appears that the online information was not true, for facts speak louder than words. Then my mother said, “Instead of believing your own mother, you choose to trust the rumors on the Internet. Have you ever found proof of what was put on the websites?” I said low, “No.” She continued, “You jumped to a rash conclusion without investigating the validity of what you read online. You are well-educated. Do you think you’re reasonable in doing so? If you study the Four Gospels, you’ll see that when the Lord Jesus worked, the Jewish leaders created many rumors and bore many false testimonies about Him. They said that the Lord Jesus was a friend of sinners, a glutton and drunkard, and that He perverted the nation and forbade to give tribute to Caesar. Moreover, they even bribed the soldiers to give the false testimony that the Lord Jesus was not resurrected but was stolen by His disciples. Don’t you know these things? The Four Gospels recorded only part of the Lord Jesus’ work in the three and a half years, but there were so many rumors about Him. Have you ever given it some thought? If there had been the Internet back then, the Jewish priests, scribes, and Pharisees would have put the rumors and false testimonies of the Lord Jesus online, and words that slandered, blasphemed, reviled, framed and condemned Him would have filled the Internet like today. Do you know what it indicates? The Lord Jesus said, ‘This is an evil generation’ (Luke 11:29). The Bible says, ‘And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not’ (John 1:5). ‘… the whole world lies in wickedness’ (1 John 5:19). Almighty God says, ‘Man lost his God-fearing heart after being corrupted by Satan and lost the function that one of God’s creatures should have, becoming an enemy disobedient to God. Man lived under Satan’s domain and followed Satan’s orders …’ (“God and Man Will Enter Into Rest Together” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). ‘God’s creation of the world goes back thousands of years, He has come to earth to do an immeasurable amount of work, and He has fully experienced the human world’s rejection and slander. No one welcomes God’s arrival; everyone merely regards Him with a cold eye. In the course of these several thousand years’ worth of hardships, man’s conduct has long ago shattered God’s heart’ (“Work and Entry (4)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). God’s words and the Bible verses have thoroughly revealed the substance of humans making rumors and giving false testimonies of God’s work. Mankind has been corrupted by Satan, so that they all become God’s enemies. No one loves the truth and no one welcomes God’s return. At that time when the Lord Jesus worked and expressed the truth in Judea, the Jews wanted to kill Him on account of the truth from Him. That is irrefutable evidence that corrupt mankind hates the truth and is in enmity to God. The Jewish leaders created rumors and gave false testimonies about the Lord Jesus and finally had Him crucified. Today, God comes to earth and suffers again the frenzied opposition of corrupt mankind. The CCP government are afraid that they will lose control over their people if they all believe in Almighty God. And the religious leaders fear that they will lose their own status and jobs if their believers turn to Almighty God. So, all of them fabricate numerous rumors and give lots of false testimonies in order to frame, slander, attack, and condemn Almighty God and smear His Church. We should learn to discern their substances. The CCP is a satanic regime of atheists. They not only destroy the Bible, demolish churches, and kill Christians, but also proclaim that the Bible acknowledged by the world is a cult book. Are there any rumors that they dare not make? The religious leaders are the Pharisees and antichrists revealed by God’s work, are the main culprits of the crucifixion of God, and God’s enemies. We must see this clearly. Since we believe in God, we should believe God’s words and the truth. We should not put our faith in the lies of the CCP government or the false witnesses of the religious leaders. If we don’t have discernment about the rumors created by the CCP government and the religious world, we will end up like the Jews who rejected Christ and the true way by believing in the rumors. In this way, we will not only lose salvation from God, but also receive His righteous punishment.”
My mother’s remarks woke me from a dream. I could not help but reflect: Yes! Why did I choose to believe the information from the Internet without a second thought? The Lord Jesus said, “Judge not, and you shall not be judged: condemn not, and you shall not be condemned …” (Luke 6:37). This world has been corrupted by Satan to such degree that it is full of lies, deceit and trickery. I blindly believed the information on the Internet without verifying any of it. Was I not deceiving myself? Was I not following the wicked to judge? Seeing me silent, my mother passed me a book named The Word Appears in the Flesh and spoke softly, “God’s words are put plain and clear in this book. I hope you can put aside your conceptions and ponder these words carefully. If you have any question, just tell me and we can have a fellowship.” I took the book and read it silently. Nonetheless, I did not read it with the aim of seeking the truth but for the purpose of studying it. I tried to use my own knowledge and science to measure, authenticate, and even refute God’s word, but it just proved to be indisputable. My disrespectful attitude toward God’s word made me unable to obtain the enlightenment and illumination from the Holy Spirit and thus hold on to my own absurdity. Then I told my mother, “From now on, I will have no objection to your believing in Almighty God, but I can’t follow you to call upon the name of Almighty God. By calling on the name of the Lord Jesus, I enrolled in my dream college and received a full scholarship to study abroad. I’ve been granted so much grace from the Lord Jesus. How can I abandon the name of the Lord Jesus because of Almighty God?” My mother read a passage of words from Almighty God to me, “From the work of Jehovah to that of Jesus, and from the work of Jesus to that of this current stage, these three stages cover the entire breadth of God’s management, and are all the work of one Spirit. From when He created the world, God has always been managing mankind. He is the Beginning and the End, He is the First and the Last, and He is the One who begins an age and the One who brings the age to an end. The three stages of work, in different ages and different locations, are surely carried out by one Spirit. All those who separate these three stages oppose God. Now, you must understand that all the work from the first stage until today is the work of one God, the work of one Spirit, of which there is no doubt” (“The Vision of God’s Work (3)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). Then she began to fellowship, “You think that to accept Almighty God is to reject the Lord Jesus. Actually, Jehovah, the Lord Jesus, and Almighty God are one God. In the Age of Law, Jehovah God issued the laws to lead man’s life on earth, and asked them to keep the laws and commandments to worship God and serve God. In the later phase of the Age of Law, man couldn’t keep the laws due to the corruption of Satan and lived in the curse and condemnation of the laws. So, Jehovah God was incarnated and in the name of the Lord Jesus, was crucified for mankind’s sin and became man’s eternal sin offering. From then on, as long as man confesses before the Lord Jesus, God will forgive their sins and they will not be cursed or condemned by the laws anymore. Although man’s sins are forgiven, their sinful nature hasn’t been removed, and they still live in the cycle of committing sins and making confessions and can’t extricate themselves from it. In the last days, the Lord Jesus is incarnated again and expresses the truth to judge and purify man in the name of Almighty God, so that man can understand and gain the truth in God’s judgment, cast away their satanic disposition and no longer commit sins, be thoroughly purified by God and live out the likeness of a true man. In this way, they will be completely gained by God, inherit God’s promise and enter His kingdom. It can be seen that the Lord Jesus and Almighty God are the incarnations of Jehovah God in different ages, are one God, and are completely God Himself.”
